What better way to celebrate your pup’s birthday than to make them a cake? This cake is made with easy and delicious (but safe for dogs!) ingredients that you most likely already have!

It’s Mulligan’s Birthday!
There’s no better excuse to bake than a birthday—especially for Mulligan! I wanted to make something special to celebrate, so I turned to Broma Bakery’s Dog Birthday Cake for the perfect dog-friendly cake recipe. With simple, wholesome ingredients, it was easy to make and a huge hit.
Mulligan is no doubt about it, my best friend, and a little bit spoiled! His dad calls it pathetic, but that’s just because he’s jealous. Grateful to say we’re one year closer to calmness!

The Recipe
I’m no expert when it comes to dog food and what’s best for them, so that’s why I turned to the Broma Bakery recipe to ensure Mulligan enjoyed his cake with ingredients that were good for him!
- pumpkin
- peanut butter
- vegetable oil
- eggs
- flour
- baking soda
For the icing, she calls for yogurt, but I didn’t have any one hand and I know how much he loves small amounts of whipped cream, so I used heavy cream. I didn’t want to use a lot, though, so I only used half a cup.

Tips for Making Your Dog’s Birthday Cake
Although the recipe makes a small cake, you still shouldn’t feed it to your pup all at once. I knew that it wouldn’t be reused if I iced the entire thing, so I pre-cut a slice and only iced one slice of the cake. I crumbled the rest of the cake up in a ziploc bag to store in the freezer. This way, it will be easier to use the crumbs as a food topping or a little sweet treat for your pup!
I hope you enjoyed creating something soft and golden with me 🙂 I’m so happy you’re here!
